Don't really have an opinion whether he can or can't stick at QB but I'd guess he's got spring practice to show out or else, once Jones gets here in the fall, it's probably time for him to start looking for the DB meeting room.
 
I think them taking him now reflects how good he is...

Numbers are tight, 2 guys on campus and they still take him.

At least there are options if Dobbs goes down
 
I know nothing about any of these 3 dudes, but AV has a good point about taking him even with few spots left.

Notorious RPP, who's been pretty spot on, said we could see 4 blue shirts this cycle. Perry, Lovingood, Bruce, and Stewart I believe is who he is alluding to. Neither have taken an official, nor have received an in -home. Would be crazy if true

Not surprising. Didn't know it'd be him, but we knew it would be some folks.
 
I was surprised it was him but you're right. Definitely going to be some..ahem..maneuvering
 
Some folks on twitter seemed to think we're the first school to ever cut a kid loose late in the process.
