What's for lunch?

Mrs Verc has been out of town for three days, so I had to eat a ham sandwich while trying to clean this hellhole up. All beer later though once she gets home and I can hand the kids over.

Unfortunately, most of the meals I eat are of the "let me throw something together with as little effort as possible" variety rather than the "let me linger over this and make it as good as I can" type. A ham sandwich is typical, although I don't usually have to eat it while standing up doing dishes.

One day your lady will crap out a second child, destroying your ability to eat out with any regularity at all, and then one or the other of you will probably get serious about cooking at home. We were coming out of 12 years of DINK-hood; we learned to start sometimes making restaurant-quality meals at home more as a defense mechanism than anything else.
 
Speaking of the lady, I finally broke down and bought an engagement ring. So I guess I'll be getting married soon.

Good for you. Congratulations. I may have mixed feelings about the whole parenthood thing, but being married to a good woman is great.
 
Thanks guys, I assume she is gonna say yes, or the past couple years have been the ultimate troll job, and if that's the case I'll be quite impressed. Haven't decided if I'll do it this Sunday or on the 18th. Depends on the weather and her middle school softball schedule. Either way it will be within the next 16 days.

Congrats my man! I'm actually not too far behind you, been looking at rings recently and will probably be pulling the trigger on a purchase in the next couple of weeks.

Haha yeah guess I should've been more specific. She coaches middle school softball.

Nice man, it was a much easier process than I ever thought it would be. I had a pretty good idea what she wanted, which helped. It was a good feeling (until I realized all the uber cool things I could've earmarked with that money). The tricky part is deciding how I am going to actually ask her.

I had been holding on to my freedom for so long, until I realized she essentially took it when I was 22. So I said, what the hell. May as well make it official.

Yeah, I've been trying to come up with something for that as well. Best I can think of is trying to find a way to incorporate Raynoch into the situation because, after only 8 months, she loves him more than me anyway.

Best thing about getting engaged while still in school and married a week after graduating is that I spent very very little on the ring. No pressure when you're both broke.
