GWN's Fitness Thread

Did I send you the pdfs of the Advocare diet plan before? Can't remember...

Its a good plan even if you don't use their supplements. If you want it, let me know and I can email it to you. They have a really good 10 day cleanse that is very effective without being debilitating and needing to stay within close proximity to a bathroom at all times.

I think you did. Lemme search the email history for it later tonight. Almost certain it is somewhere.

No where near as advanced or sophisticated as what GWN can provide you with but 7 or 8 years ago I finally gave in and acknowledged that exercise alone wasn't enough if I completely ignored diet so I took a very basic approach to things. I basically existed, usually for 5 1/2 days out of the week, on nothing but chicken, fish, and any green vegetable I could find and it worked amazingly well. Not exactly rocket science but I was able to stick with it, as long as I still allowed myself a day or two for some deviations (my particular weakness is a big breakfast on the weekends) from the plan, and it was somewhat surprisingly easy to come up with different ways to eat basically the same 5 or 6 things over and over again.

Since then I've expanded to take into account a more well balanced diet (also, I've almost always taken some sort of multi vitamin but made sure to do so during that particular time due to the limitations of what I was eating) but I still have those same 6 or 7 ingredients as the more frequently used items.

Everyone is different, and everyone reacts to food differently, so part of the journey is figuring out how food affects you. I'm one of those guys who is super-sensitive to carbs, so I went with the low/no carb diet approach for a long time. While effective, it can really drain you after a while, especially if you continue to attempt to lift heavy weights in compound movements.

I guess my point is...don't be fooled into thinking that carbs are completely the enemy. you just have to figure out what level works best for you. Staying too low on carbs eventually led to minor injuries and overall fatigue for me. I found that my sweet spot is about 150 grams a day.

So much win in this post. Did you take "before" photos? You'll wish you had if you didn't.

Congrats bro. Good on you.

I did. The goal is to lose 50. The hope is to lose 70.

Ran for a mile and a quarter straight no stop. Have never done that before.

Where were you starting from Z? And I remember you are a big SOB, but what's your height?

In high school before I got sick I was 6'2/240. Then after high school I settled in about 290-300. Then I put on some weight after I ****ed my ankle up. I'm trying to get to 250. I'd be okay with 270. But I just need to be healthier in general.

I have a Prince Fielder like body. I have a gut but I'm just a massive broad shoulders mother ****er anyway. But I'm trying to get rid of the gut.

I'm gonna start running this summer.

It's incredible how much better you feel when you eat well and exercise.

Just ran my first 10 minute mile since 8th grade.

Sorry if these bother you btw. I want to reach my goal before I put it on Facebook. It's nice to post some updates to keep me going.

It doesn't bother anyone. Keep doing it!

Man, it's not bothering me at all. I love this stuff. Glad you're seeing results and staying motivated.
