Where is everyone?

Also, Danny Parker said FCS wins won't count towards bowl eligibility now. Is that true?

I thought the rule was always that one FCS win would count towards the bowl eligibility (pretty sure we already have one scheduled for next year) but if you scheduled another FCS team then the 2nd win wouldn't count towards the 6 needed.

He elaborated more:

Just an educated guess based on a few things I’ve heard going back to when he took this job.

The jobs seem very similar except Michigan is where he’s from. He still goes back in the offseason, considers it home, etc.

Maybe it’s also just me not valuing this job as highly as I should after what’s gone on the past 5-6 years, but I would be more surprised if he turned the job down than I would if he took it.

Obviously all of this is contingent on an offer coming from Michigan. I don't think any other job would be much of a concern at this point.

So he's basing his statement off of what he heard in 2013?

No.

"A person I talked to within the program yesterday said he thinks he takes the job if he is offered. It is not a fact that he would take the job, but there has always been chatter around the program surrounding the Michigan job and that talk definitely hasn't slowed down recently."

No.

Oh. Damn.

Hopefully Michigan decides for him and doesn't offer or hits on the couple (at least) ahead of him. The good news, if we survive this, he will be here for the next several years.

I seen 40 mins ago we're working on an extension with Butch. Really hope that's gets done soon. I can't handle another coach bouncing on us

I can almost bet we'd overpay to keep Butch just because we can't afford another coaching change

The nightmare scenario I talked about a couple months ago seems a little more realistic now than it did then. The fact that UF has apparently ended up on McElwain so quickly demonstrates how thin the group of potential candidates is. I don't think it would take Michigan as long to work down their list to Jones as I originally thought it would.

Maybe they'll fall in love with Dan Mullen.

UT is a much better job currently though. Surely he's just keeping that talk alive around the building so he can get Hugh Freeze money.

Question: if Jones were to walk out now, would he immediately become more hated in Tennessee than Lane Kiffin? I say yes.

Hard to see why anyone would leave a good situation to go somewhere where you don't know who the permanent AD is going to be and there's a new school president who's expressed a lot of disdain for athletics. Too much uncertainty there right now.

Agreed. Which is why I'm throwed

Still not too worried yet. The "why Michigan would go after Jones" part makes more sense to me than it did two months ago, but the "why Jones would go to Michigan part" makes less. The Michigan situation looks worse now than it did.
