She's torn. Rationally she knows this is a good solid hire, but I think she really wanted someone to blow her skirt up a little more. But she knows there's not a lot out there this year.

Winning the east at Florida just requires a coach that isn't going to drive the program into the ditch. McElwain should be able to do that.

I just hope that we can stop that damn streak soon.
 
I thought for sure Foley would go for someone who runs a high-octane, exciting offense. I assume McElwain's still running the same kind of I-formation, between the tackles and play action passes stuff he ran at Alabama -- the kind of offense that makes Tennessee fans soil the front of their pants, but which bores the hell out of UF fans raised on Spurrier and Urban Meyer. I've met a bunch of UF fans for whom Muschamp's original sin wasn't losing so much as fielding teams that were just boring. They don't just expect to win; they expect to run the scoreboard up every week. Not sure this guy's going to scratch that itch for them.
 
So who we gonna play next year woth UAB gone? Scout board said the best options with opens dates are UCF, Memphis, FIU, MTSU, Rice, Bowling Green St, UMASS, SDSU, LA Tech
 
Also, Danny Parker said FCS wins won't count towards bowl eligibility now. Is that true?

It ain't like that, lol. A close female friend who happens to be a gator fan and someone he can talk football with, I think.
 
That, or Verc is starring in the southern edition of "Big Love".

Heh, I wouldn't even call her that close of a female friend. I only see her maybe four or five times a year, and it's not unusual for us to go months without talking to each other at all during the offseason. And then during the season we average probably five hundred text messages a day during your average football Saturday, starting during Gameday and ending when one or both of us gets too drunk to keep typing.

She's the wife of a guy who used to work with Mrs Verc. We get along well with them and (even more importantly) their kids get along great with our kids, so it's a pleasant time to hang out with them, but we only see them a few times a year because they live way up in East Cobb. They're both Gator alums; he's pretty relaxed about it but she is rabid, probably because her dad played football there, I think for Doug Dickey. Our spouses like talking football, but she and I REALLY like talking about football.
