GWN's Fitness Thread

You know the apartment place right behind the day care? By the railroad tracks? That was home during college. Can't remember the name..

I live probably 2 minutes from there, although the name escapes me. Small world.

To get the thread back on track, went to the local ballfield and ran timed poles woth my buddy. Started from one foul pole, sprinted the entire way to the other pole, then sprinted back. Did 5 of em, which is much worse than it sounds. Exhausted. Gonna rest the legs tomorrow

That's crazy man, I always liked living there.. 5 minutes from campus, and right off Wilma Rudolph. The Co-Op on the corner use to run oil changes and tire rotations for $19.95. Hell, I miss it.

Foul poles are hell. Especially when you have to count on ~40 other people to make the time.

I sh** you not, I worked at Mr. Tire. My uncle was the mgr there. Worked there til August of '08

Did shoulders and arms today, but I'm eyeing a second workout tonight. Will probably be a short Insanity DVD. Or maybe I'll break out P90x Yoga and light a couple candles for Brown.

Hey, I use to be one of those dudes who made fun of the yoga. Until I tried it. That is a serious excercise, man.

I sweat like a damned pig during Yoga. And it really is very good for flexibility. I may break it out tonight and then jump in the jacuzzi tub after.

Anyone ever do any type of hiking or backpacking?

I used to until the kids ruined it. Went backpacking in the Sierra Nevada mountains the week before the Cal game a few years ago. Carried a beer to the top of Mt Whitney, highest point in the lower 48, and drank it. Once upon a time I was actually alive and doing stuff.

That's awesome! Nothing like mountain hiking in the western states.

I once hiked the Crow Pass trail when I lived in Alaska...a 23 mile jaunt. Will probably never do that again. Here's a pic of me...
