Them Vols offseason thread

That's what i was thinking. Chance the Kentucky or Mizzou games are great fun, but i think this year's opener has people hyped.

Didn't realize labor day was day after USU. Very very good chance I'll be there then.

You tailgate at all gwn? Jw. We used to meet up with a family friend when we went more often.

Rarely. We park down at the visitors center...easy to get in and easy to get out. We're usually visiting family when we're in town, so we try to spend as much time with them as we can.

Think double Q would be good seats for a 7:00 game?

Thinking GG or QQ. sun shouldn't be bad in QQ for 7:00 game

Should I make a vols customized jersey with #8 and A Tribe Called Quez?

The one Tennessee signee for the 2014 class that ranked No. 4 nationally by Scout that hasn’t yet made it to campus is former four-star linebacker Christopher Weatherd. The JUCO talent told IT this week that he plans to trip to Knoxville soon (possibly this week) to begin the move-in process, noting that it will take more than one trip for everything he’s bringing. When asked when he would enroll, Weatherd said it would not be until after July 4. According to the university’s academic calendar, the second summer session commences July 3 and runs until Aug. 8.

A trio of newcomers weigh in as the heaviest and lightest on the official roster. Defensive backs RaShaan Gaulden and Emmanuel Moseley both need to chug Muscle Milk and frequent the sub shop in Vol Hall as they weigh 165 each. On the other end is defensive tackle Charles Mosley who went from 353 pounds all the way up to 374.

Tennessee’s leading receiver from 2013 continues to do what’s asked of him in his return to the Vols roster. Expectations are for Alton “Pig” Howard (44 catches, 388 yards, 3 TDs) to contend for a starting job with Team 118.

Another pass-catcher that figures to contribute this fall is redshirt freshman Ryan Jenkins. The Tennessee legacy practiced very little his first two semesters on campus, only running routes in the latter stages of the summer before knee issues put him on the shelf. If healthy, Jenkins stands a solid chance to get into assistant coach Zach Azzanni’s 10-man rotation (if tempo is at desired level).

Treyvon Paulk tore his ACL early into his senior season at Milton (Ga.) High School. While the former Scout three-star missed out on most of his final year on the prep level, the tear occurred early enough to where Paulk is currently working out with his fellow 2014 classmates. Barring a setback, Paulk won’t have to redshirt this fall based on the injury alone.

Congratulations to former Vol offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James for signing with the Miami Dolphins. The four-year Tennessee starter inked a four-year rookie contract in the neighborhood of $13 million with a signing bonus in the $4.5 million range.

As of this weekend Charles Mosely has been moved to offense. Could change, but this is were he is for the moment.
