Tactical Building / Room Entries

First time I have taught it, too. Good thing I love the subject.

Would love to see how the training for that stuff actually works. If I'm ever gonna write seriously about tactical units and the situations in which they're needed, I'd want to see the training... Classroom and situational practice. Feel like that's a major thing that you just can't grasp from only reading about it. Just my naive opinion.

Do you/y'all ever go train small city/county units on tactical entry stuff like that?

We host state and local law enforcement here all the time. Fugitive investigations and high risk fugitive apprehension courses.

It's baby steps. We start with approach, then stacking on the door, knock and announce, initial entry, and then clearing the rest of the house. But we really take our time in getting there with our basic students.

Good good. Figured as much, but good. Best of the best providing the expertise.

Were you on specialty/tactical units as military police?

Sort of...but I specialized in security in the military much more than tactical police techniques. Going downrange to provide security for assets in areas where host nation security was deemed inadequate.

I'm sure, while not essential, this sort of training is where military rearing can help a lot.

Is the 3-hour class like lecture with power point? Or interactive where they perform the task before moving on to the next topic?
