We somewhat cryptically tried to have this conversation before and I think it was before Ben's time, if that's who you were referring to with that part.

I wasn't a mod when any of that went down. I stumbled across the other site after a Google search looking for something on VN. But all I know is that A) Freak is about the most easygoing admin imaginable, and B) those guys pissed Freak off so badly that he won't allow any mention of any of them years later. My guess is that they used the PM system to try to kill VN, essentially, by subverting all the best posters.

They got the site they wanted, anyway. Law of tooth and claw. All guys backslapping themselves for being hardcore internet badasses. Yawn.

Since I'm sure you can read the unedited versions of the posts, you can probably get my email address. I have no problem sending you the exact emails I have sent to him as I generally don't care for the subversiveness of all of it. More than anything, I am amused by it all. Kind of like wrestling or daytime soap operas.

I think the general fear would be disrespecting Freak or somehow getting myself banned because VN is the shiz and that other place sucks sour frog ass.

I haven't tried to read other versions of your posts. I don't care. I doubt Freak cares. You guys are fine scholars and I feel like we can at least sort of talk about it. As you say, that other place sucks frog ass.

The upshot is that they left because they weren't allowed to be assh0les to people. Which is why it was so delicious that the last time I posted over there, I said "sh!t" and it got bleeped. Because of Google ads. I laughed at them. "I THOUGHT YOU GUYS WERE SO HARDCORE OVER HERE!"
 
I have no interest in ever visiting their site, i also never got Falcons email lol. I never really go to other message boards unless its for porn lol. As far as im concerned VN is the best one out there. Since i haven't got the email yet, i assume it just talks about them *******s being a radio host around your area?

I think my general feeling toward many of them stems from being someone who felt treated like an ass by several of those guys, which is why it amuses me so. "Hey there's a new guy! Let's treat him like ****, see how much he can take, and if he jumps through all the hoops maybe we'll accept him." I just said "Fu** this." and stayed away from them after that (for the most part).

The lesson to remember is not to become that jaded by things. I mean, look at us talking here when things get hairy over there. Nothing wrong with it until we become intolerant of the newbs and want to be richards to others because we feel above them in some way. It's an interesting case study.

The only reason for this much discussion is that VN is such a great place that by far most of my web life is spent there. But then again I don't tweet or use Facebook so that's probably why.

I spend 90% of my Internet time on VN, the other 10 is for women. I know what you mean about people treating new people like ****. I try to be nice and welcome all the newbies, well the ones that seem to not be dumbasses.

I know of the other website venture and I think I even tried a cursory google search for it one time but didn't find anything and then seriously wondered why in the world I cared enough to look anyway. I'm sure that if I ever saw it I might remember other posters from back in older VN days but the one guy we've already referenced doesn't make their particular corner of the Internet really worth a chit and not worth any time trying to find.

I saw him say something Friday night so i checked his post history and saw that he was around for Braves Thread 1. I thought some of yall knew him.
