Fall Practice Updates:

Guy may be right, I may be overzealous about the D... the team in general... but I see 2-3 serious question marks, save for Curt's health.

Swafford has been running with the ones in the secondary, not a good sign. Randolph and Sutton are fine, it's their counterparts. Moseley hasn't played a down, good player but gonna have some bumps in the road. Same for whoever lines up opposite of Randolph. DT are slaw by SEC standards. Saulsberry is situational at best. DOB should be depth, and is a starter. Owen Williams-- we'll see. He is strong but undersized and has never played an SEC snap. Still adjusting. Vereen is good, but will he take that next step? Maggitt, can't help the club from the tub. Reports are high ankle, those linger. The freshmen are nice, but they are rookies. Will be growing pains. So basically question marks at one corner, one safety, DT, DE. If Sutton or Randolph go down, we're screwed.

I hear ya. A lot will depend on if McDowell or Kelly can just grab that spot. LaDarrell is like 17th on the depth chart right now, it seems lol.

Swafford isn't awful, but you're right... not a starting SEC safety... a sub package / third safety / depth kind of guy. A playmaker, just can't play downhill in the SEC like we need him to.

We'll see if we can hold up in the run game.

I need a cold shower every once in a while.

edit: but I don't think it'll be awful unless the health on D gets bad.

The good news, this class is really looking the part by all accounts. Almost outta the dark, gents. Darkest right before the dawn so to speak.

Hopefully Jordan Williams can be serviceable at DT. Hopefully.

He'll be different, but I think he'll be good.

The defense will be really good if we can get teams to 2 & 8 or 3rd & 5-10.

A team that can run downhill... worrisome. Staying "ahead of the chains" will be so vital on both sides of the ball.

Just hope Maggitt gets and stays healthy. Butch and staff say he is the best player on the team. He is a stud, when healthy. He will be very key.

It is a shame, but Curt can't stay healthy for whatever reason. Would have been a 2nd round pick, if healthy last year, at this year's draft

Yep. I don't know if the injury is as bad as they are just gonna handle any small thing with kid gloves. Just get him on the field on opening Sunday and then every Saturday after. That's what we need. Not fall camp production.

I agree with the sentiment that you will not want to play this team later on in the season, after they've taken their lumps.

Power run game gonna be nearly impossible for us to handle. Good thing only Alabama will fully utilize it. Gurley could also pose big problems. Mike Davis. Who knows what Florida does. Aw **** never mind

GBO

Leonard Fournette will be a problem when we play LSU in Atlanta.
