Believe me, it pains me as a Tennessee boy that I think our whiskey sort of blows. It's just so sweet and syrupy.

There are many, many people who love good bourbon and I don't sneer at them at all. It's just not really for me.

Definitely going to give it a go, all kidding aside I prefer the Irish distilling processes as well. I wish I enjoyed Jack Daniels, but I don't. Same goes for their higher end stuff, just not the greatest. I enjoy Dickel well enough I guess, but not enough to pick it over similarly priced Jameson, TD, or other triple distilled products. And don't even get me started on all these pop-up white whiskey passed as genuine Tennessee "moonshine" I wouldnt serve that crap to my dog.

I do enjoy a nice bourbon on occasion. But overall, it's overrated.

I think said this before, GWN, but congratulations -- both on the career opportunity and the wife who's willing to go along with it all. Get her to fly up for as many weekends as she'll put up with.

Thanks. Hoping she can make a trip up each month, and I can make a trip back each month. That's the goal.

Huh. $65 seems higher than I thought.

I'm sure I'll be in a liquor store at some point this weekend; I'll take a look at what they've got. Surely there's a decent Bushmills for around thirty bucks.

$60 for regular Redbreast is pretty much in line. A few years ago it was $50 but has gone up since. The 21 yr will set you back a cool $250.

I just bought Mrs Verc a bottle of Redbreast [sic] 15 for Christmas two months ago. You'd think I'd remember what I paid.

(I am not allowed to touch her bottle unless she pours it. And it's Friday night and I'm not sure there's any other whiskey in the house at all. I should just go to bed right now.)

The sad part is first take would be a great show if they didn't do he shock jock routine and had real analysts debating
