Girl at App State had been missing 10 days and her body was just found in the woods near campus.

Keep that family and her friends in your thoughts. Not entirely surprising (that she wasn't alive), but absolutely brutal news.

Common guess has been suicide, but there are of course all sorts of rumors swirling once someone is missing and stuff. Lot of noise, so who knows. Hoping there is some sort of update this evening. Could get messy.

Have a feeling some noise will come from this. The reports so far this semester alone are more than I remember seeing before. It's good they're being reported, but it makes me furious how often it happens. I'm working on a project with a few other people to raise awareness, and we'll see what happens with today's findings.

All that's been released so far is that it is her body. Driver's license and college ID found with/near body.

Was going to say the exact same thing. It's obviously impossible but I think it would be terrifying if somehow we ever knew what the real number of those types of incidents. The reported numbers are bad enough but I wonder how high the number would spike if we knew about all the ones that never get reported.
