Never seen The Sandlot? Wow, I've heard it all now.

Says here it came out in 1993. I was 23 years old, just married, and living up in DC. Mrs Verc and I went out almost every night. The last thing I would have been interested in doing was wasting a night going to see a kids' movie.

23 isn't too old for The Sandlot, married or not.

The Sandlot is an every age movie

Don't know about the married part though, not sure how mrs. Verc would feel about him eyeing Wendy peffercorn

No doubt. And it is a guy's movie, i don't know if chicks dig it or not.

When you're 23 and living it up in the big city, an "every age movie" is the same thing as a kids' movie. It would not have been anywhere near my radar.

I'll put it in the Netflix queue and give it a shot with the boy sometime.

Make sure it's the actual sandlot not sandlot 2 or some other crappy variation/spinoff

Yes, I will accept no substitutes. Added the DVD to the queue. No Blu-ray, though? No streaming? Not even available in iTunes? Agh. BARBARISM!

If I was 23 when it came out, I'm pretty sure there's no way in hell I would have seen it either. Probably much better that he waited until Verc Jr. was around to appreciate it with. I saw it in the theater so I would've been 12 at the time but if it would have come out as little as 2 years later, I probably wouldn't remember it nearly as fondly as I do. 14 year old Noch probably thinks it's a little too childish for him at that time, being such a badass and running chit at Independence Middle School and all.

And if I was 12, a lot of the other regular folks around here would have been 10 and younger which would have probably increased the fond memories even more so.
