Fantasy Football League

I'm down for one keeper. Would suggest holding off on the draft until as close to the season opener as possible...maybe the Sunday before?

And we can always do a free league.

How exactly does this keeper stuff work? Depends on where you drafted them or what?

You just pick one player off of last year's team that you want to keep for this season. Everyone 's keeper is then removed from the draft pool, and we go from there.

Usually if you don't select a keeper, you pick at the top of the draft before everyone else. Brown can clarify on how that will work.

Oh ok, that sounds simple. I've been hearing all this talk about "i can keep Lynch in the 1st or AJ Green in the 3rd" and stuff like that, i don't understand that stuff.

A lot of leagues will have a stipulation where, if you keep someone from the previous year, they will count as the draft pick for one round after you selected them the year before. If you took Lynch with your 1st pick in 14, he would count as your 2nd rounder for 15 and you'd pick a new player in the 3rd. If you keep a player for multiple years, each year you have him he counts for one round later in that year's draft.

Interesting. I've never done it that way.

I'm 100% good with it being a redraft league. I just choose to import rosters to potentially have keepers in case that's the way the vote went.

Definitely agree there, I was just explaining probably why Ben heard of people having the types of discussions he was talking about.

Oh ok thanks. Just out of curiosity if i was to keep OBJ and i got him as a free agent, how's that work?

Different leagues have different rules for all these types of situations but in the ones I've done, if he was drafted by someone and later released and you picked him up then he still holds that round for you even if you weren't the one who picked him. If he was not drafted at all and you picked him up at any point after the draft was over, he would count as your last pick this time around. Beauty of someone like him is he could become a hall of famer, play for 10 years and he'd always only ever count as your last round pick.
