It is a nice pay hike, although not quite the pay hike I hoped.

Difficult to leave everything you've ever known from a professional standpoint.

Browns got some thinking to do, but I appreciate all the well wishes. FWIW I am leaning towards taking it due in large part to not wanting to hang myself during tax season.

Yes but it's more vague. It's certainly where my questions will be directed.

Where I'm at now I know exactly what's ahead of me

Headed to get some Krystal's cause that's how the process of every big life decision starts

Don't know if this is similar to what you're thinking, but Mrs Verc really struggled with her decision to go corporate. There is (or at least was then) so much more prestige in the accounting profession for public accounting that she said it felt almost like she was putting a ceiling on her career, like she was going to the minor leagues on purpose. She had a real sense of loss about it. But once the decision was behind her, I don't think she's ever regretted it at all. When tax season rolled around and she wasn't part of it was probably the happiest she's ever been in her life.

My advice:

Just jump, man. Go for it. You'll be a better accountant for it.

Mrs Verc and I make all important life decisions at the Preservation Pub on Market Square in Knoxville. Not even sure how that started, but that's what we do.

There is an inhale, stick your chest out to public accounting in terms of comparing the two, but as far as myself and strictly title terms, I'd be moving up. It's damn near at the top of the private chain.

I forgot how important the CPA distinction is to you people. I don't blame y'all after surviving those 4 damn tests in a span of what, a year?

Where'd you get your masters brown? If you don't mind my asking. Jw.
