Gonzalez to have MRI on elbow
Gonzalez to have MRI on elbow
Braves left-hander Mike Gonzalez will have an MRI exam on his elbow late this morning, which general manager John Schuerholz said was only a precautionary measure and had not caused alarm in the team's inner circle. Schuerholz said the Braves believe the relief pitcher's 'discomfort' is unrelated to tendinitis that sidelined him for the final five weeks of the 2006 season with Pittsburgh, because this is in a different area of the elbow and hasn't prevented Gonzalez from pitching. "I think he's got a little discomfort," Schuerholz said. "It happens, especially in this cold weather. We all know how cold it's been and how miserable it's been. We think he's going to be fine."
