Renteria set to return to the lineup

Edgar Renteria made a believer out of Cox with a solid effort in running drills Tuesday and will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Reds. Renteria has been out with a high ankle sprain for almost three weeks since he hurt it while awkwardly fielding a ground ball against the Astros on Aug. 2. "I didn't think he'd play until St. Louis, to be honest with you," Cox said. "The last few days he's really come on strong. Sunday in Atlanta he was running and cutting in the outfield, and he was very tentative about doing that. But once he got here, he was better."
