All the headlines and attention were focused on Mark Teixeira, rendering Ron Mahay little more than an afterthought in the Braves' big trade with Texas on July 31. But Saturday night, the overlooked left-hander had a major impact in the Braves' 7-5 win against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Mahay inherited a no-outs jam in the fifth inning — 6-4 lead, runners at first and third, big Ryan Howard batting — and worked out of it in spectacular fashion, turning back a potential game-turning tide.
