Braves gain ground on Mets as Hudson takes charge

For the first time in a couple of days, the Braves saw some daylight. They caught it on clubhouse TVs as the Mets lost to the Cubs on Saturday afternoon to snap a three-game winning streak. The Braves capitalized several hours later, working past the Rockies 6-4 on Saturday night, on Disco Night, staying alive in the NL East. The Braves are within 4-1/2 games of the Mets, back in second place a half-game ahead of the Phillies. They have a game Sunday against the Rockies before they can do something about it — face-to-face with the Mets in New York for three games starting Tuesday.
