After scoring 12 runs in back-to-back games against the Houston Astros, the Braves were left begging for a 12th run Thursday night in a 12-11, 14-inning loss. The Braves took the loss the hard way, too, watching a pinch-hitting pitcher, Jason Jennings, singled home Jason Lane for the winning run in the top of the 14th off Oscar Villarreal. Neither team had any position players left at that point. Villarreal himself hit a single for the first hit of his major league career the inning before. But when Villarreal hit Lane to lead off the 14th, it gave the Astros the running start they needed.
