Los Angeles -- After failing to gain any ground in the NL East standings when they had chances Monday and Tuesday, the Braves knew they couldn't afford to squander another opportunity Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Jones Boys and ascendant rookie Yunel Escobar helped build a lead the recently shaky Braves bullpen was able to protect in a 5-2 win at Dodger Stadium, snapping Atlanta's three-game losing streak. "We gain a game tonight, so it's good," said manager Bobby Cox, whose second-place Braves trimmed the New York Mets' lead to three games after the Mets lost their fourth in a row.
