Chipper, Smoltz resolve controversy

Chipper Jones and John Smoltz cleared the air Sunday in a meeting with manager Bobby Cox and said afterward that their disagreement over post-game comments this weekend is behind them. "Total misunderstanding," said Smoltz, making one brief comment to the media and not taking any questions afterward. "It's over with. There won't be a problem the rest of the time we're teammates." Jones was more verbose after the meeting. He said he apologized to Smoltz for Jones' reaction to what he thought was Smoltz singling him out for sitting with an injury Friday night in his postgame comments.
