The Braves said left-hander Mike Gonzalez had successful ligament reconstruction surgery on his pitching elbow Thursday. The operation was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham. Gonzalez is out for the season after being diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament.
