Redman rocked, Paronto injured
Redman rocked, Paronto injured
The Braves considered themselves fortunate to sign pitcher Mark Redman for just $750,000 in the middle of spring training. But Friday night, he looked like something found at the bottom of a discount bin. The left-hander gave up five runs in the first inning of an ugly 11-4 loss to the Florida Marlins in a series opener at Turner Field, where many in a crowd of 33,212 booed Redman ... and Jeff Francoeur ... and Macay McBride.... It was that kind of night for the Braves (7-3), who lost their second in a row after a four-game winning streak, and were embarrassed for the second time on the homestand — both times on Friday night, both times with Redman pitching.
