Miami -- The Braves had a 4-0 lead after the top of the first inning Tuesday, and Mark Redman blew it in the bottom of the inning. They had a 6-4 lead after two innings, and he blew it before the end of three. The Braves didn't win because of Redman's performance; they won in spite of it.

I'm afraid it's becoming apparent that the back of the rotation is going to be the issue this year.

The good news though is that it looks like all they will have to do is eat up 5-6 innings to get to the bullpen anyway.

something has got to be done about Redman, it's brutal.

The bullpen has been so good that I'd almost be tempted to make it part of the solution. Start Villerreal and let him give you four innings -- he started some last year and it wasn't a disaster. Maybe Redman could give you more if you turned him into a two-inning guy. Maybe there's someone at Richmond who could come in and go three innings at a time every five days and fill in somewhere else, too.

It's definitely enough to make you wish that we were still in the days of the four-man rotation, that's for sure.

Didn't Villareal have several pretty good starts last year?

I know he started a few times last year. I don't remember wanting him to be released immediately, which is about where I'm at with Redman.

It cannot possibly be any worse, that's for sure.
