Sounds like he just didn't show up for the game tonight.

And thus, Wilson Betemit was officially traded away for nothing. I know he's only going to be average, but average players are still assets, and you can't just casually discard them like that.

I liked Betemit.

Suspended infielder Willy Aybar continued to test the Braves' patience Wednesday, when he again failed to report to Turner Field for injury rehab and an anticipated meeting with manager Bobby Cox. "I haven't seen him, so I can't tell you anything," Cox said two hours before Wednesday night's game vs. the Chicago Cubs. "He was supposed to be here, to come into my office and have a chat." General manager John Schuerholz said, "He's not here. We're working on that as we speak, on finding him. I think he wanted to come [today]. We're just working on how to get that done. ... I'm not going to comment more on it."

Agent: Suspended Aybar has substance issue

Agent: Suspended Aybar has substance issue

Suspended Braves infielder Willy Aybar is in Boston, struggling with substance abuse and trying to get his life and baseball career back in order, his agent told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday. The agent, Luis Valdez, said the distraught player was dealing with "drinking and drugs" and that he drove alone from Atlanta to Boston to be with his brother, Francis Aybar, who lives there. Minutes later, Valdez backpedaled a bit and said he didn't know if Aybar, 24, was involved in anything other than alcohol.
